Voodoo Point (Sutherland Shire)

In the Sutherland area near Cronulla and Kurnell, Voodoo Point is a very secluded spot, with lots of greenery, rocks, cliffs, and a small beach. It’s a magical setting that I love to photograph. It’s the best option in Sydney’s southern region and completely private, with no one in the shots, perfect for those looking for privacy and more tasteful nude photography.

South Maroubra (Eastern Suburbs)

It’s one of the best beaches in the Eastern Suburbs and I always shoot at sunrise. Not just because the light is beautiful and the sun rises over the ocean, but also because it’s quieter than all the other beaches. The scenery is stunning, with rocks, greenery, and a rock pool.

Turimetta Beach (Northern Beaches)

Turimetta Beach is such a beautiful spot on the Northern Beaches, especially at sunrise. The light there in the morning is really lovely, and the beach feels calm, quiet and quite private, which makes it such a nice option for a session. It has a bit of everything too, with the hill, the rocks and the headland giving a lot of variety in one place. I don’t usually recommend it for sunset, as the sun drops behind the hill rather than out over the water, so you lose that beautiful direct light much earlier. But for sunrise, it’s absolutely stunning.

Little Bay (Eastern Suburbs)

Little Bay is located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. It’s a beautiful coastal location with a mix of rocky areas, stone hills, open ocean views and lighter blue water. It works best at sunrise, when the sun rises over the ocean and the beach is usually much quieter. At sunset, especially during the warmer months, it can become quite busy, so I normally recommend an early morning session there for the best light, more privacy and a calmer experience.

Anna Bay Sand Dunes (Port Stephens)

Located in Anna Bay, within Port Stephens, about 190 km north of Sydney CBD, the sand dunes offer a completely different landscape — soft, endless sands that feel almost desert-like by the ocean. It’s one of the most unique locations for a session, with a very open, minimal and earthy feel. Perfect if you’re drawn to something a little more artistic, natural and a bit unexpected.

Long Reef (Northern Beaches)

A location rich in variety and earthy tones. From the soft greens of the golf course hill to the warm, reddish cliffs and open stretches of sand, Long Reef glows with golden light at sunset. When the tide is low, the reef itself is revealed — a textured, organic stage that brings a grounded, timeless feel to every image.

North Curl Curl (Northern Beaches)

Bold and dramatic, North Curl Curl is perfect for sunrise sessions. Its darker rock formations and iconic ocean pool create a moody, powerful setting. Especially beautiful for mothers embracing solo artistic nude sessions, this beach offers privacy in the early morning hours and a deep sense of elemental energy.

South Curl Curl (Northern Beaches)

Unlike the northern side, which is mostly rocks and the rockpool, this area is the beach itself with a stretch of sand. I usually recommend Curl Curl, both north and south, only for sunrise, as it gets quite busy at sunset — with swimmers and surfers (even in winter), and also a lot of photoshoots happening in the afternoon.

Located in the Northern Beaches, about 40 km north of Sydney CBD. It’s generally quieter than many other beaches in the area, which makes it a great option if you’re after something peaceful, scenic and a bit more intimate without going too far from the city.

Located in the Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast, about 90 km north of Sydney CBD, Putty Beach is a beautiful mix of soft sand, bushland and coastal views. It feels more secluded and relaxed, with plenty of space to move around and explore different textures — from open beach to greenery. It’s a lovely option if you’re after something calm, natural and not overly busy.

Also located within Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast, around 95 km north of Sydney CBD, Ghosties Beach has a more rugged, untouched feel. It’s accessed via a short walk, which keeps it quieter and less crowded. The combination of cliffs, ocean and raw landscape gives it a more wild and intimate vibe — perfect for something a bit more unique and away from the usual beach settings.

Headlands Beach Boat Ramp (Wollongong)

Located in the Wollongong area, about 75 km south of Sydney CBD, this spot is a bit different from your typical beach. It has a mix of the boat ramp, rocks, ocean and cliffs in the background. It’s a good option if you want something simple, a bit more raw and not overly busy. It usually has fewer people than the main beach areas, especially if we move slightly away from the ramp.

Kurnell (Sutherland Shire)

Kurnell is perfect for families, extended families, and older adults. The sand is firm, so it’s very flat and kids can play freely. The water is calm, with no waves, and very shallow. There’s plenty of greenery and some rocks. The beach is right in front of the parking lot, so you don’t need to walk far. At certain times of the year, you can even see the sunset over the ocean.

Mona Vale South (Northern Beaches)

Mona Vale South is located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It’s a beautiful coastal location with open ocean views, rocky areas, soft sand and plenty of space for natural, movement-filled photos. Dogs are allowed there, and I honestly think it’s one of the most beautiful dog-friendly beaches in Sydney. It’s usually much quieter than other beaches, which gives us more privacy and space for children and dogs to move around freely without the session feeling crowded.

Bateau Bay

Bateau Bay on the Central Coast is a really beautiful spot for a session, especially at sunrise. It has a lovely mix of beach, rocks and headland, so it gives a lot of variety without needing to move around too much. It also feels quite open and peaceful in the morning, which makes it such a nice option if you want something natural and relaxed. I don’t usually recommend it for sunset for the same reason as some other east facing beaches, as you lose the best light once the sun drops behind the land. But at sunrise, it’s really beautiful.
